Anything else?

Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving are two essential qualities I possess, and I enjoy a fast-paced environment. I have naturally fallen into management or leadership positions throughout my educational and professional experience, and I believe that my experience and background can provide value. My most recent experience is as the Strategic Initiatives Manager at the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce. I became knowledgeable in various current issues within topic areas like the workforce, public safety, economic development, energy, and education. I was responsible for understanding the issue's impacts on the business community to support development and facilitate strategic partnerships. I gained experience prospecting and qualifying business members who could support our strategic initiatives. My educational background is in nonprofit management. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University and a certificate from the University of Washington-Tacoma. My educational focus was on donor engagement, performance management, and fundraising. I learned various funding models and the components of a fund development plan. I have been applying this knowledge in several volunteer opportunities with local nonprofits. Other experience includes being the coordinator and point of contact for the job training department at The Genesis Project. The Genesis Project is a small nonprofit that worked with law enforcement to help women come out of sex trafficking. I would coordinate and communicate program needs with the interns, job trainees, and volunteers daily. Additionally, I would teach classes on personal and professional development and work with a wide variety of clients, problem-solving, organizing, and coordinating services for their needs. Outside of operational duties, I worked on the development and management of three various job training programs. I was responsible for drafting policies and procedures, program planning strategies, and curriculum for each program. In the field, I recruited volunteers and organized community experts for the job training programs. Furthermore, I was a member of the fundraising committee working on procurement and provided support with marketing materials for our annual fundraising events. Written and verbal communication was a largely used skill, and I adapted to a wide range of interactions from community experts to serving clients. I believe my skills, education, and experience can provide professional and individual interaction with donors, community partners, and staff. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Beth Taylor
