Ever since I was a kid, I have had an interest in politics. One of my earliest political memories was when I was eight years old and noticed that there was an election going on. I asked my father who we were for. Bush? Or Kerry? He said Bush, and I have been a Republican ever since. This became a lifelong interest of mine and when I went to college, I got a degree in Government and International Politics. While I was in school, I enrolled in the army ROTC program. I was eventually granted a scholarship and upon graduation I spent the next four plus years on active-duty as a logistics officer. I separated a little over a year ago at the rank of Captain. I initially used some military recruiting firms to find my first civilian job, but I quickly realized that I wasn't getting the same fulfillment out of it that I was craving. That is why I am here. I am looking for an opportunity to enter the career field that has long been my primary area of interest. Although I do not have direct experience in politics I have a wealth of professional experience. In my experience as an officer in the army I led diverse teams of up to 150 personnel in a wide range of military occupations from maintenance technicians to IT personnel. I was responsible for the accountability of up to $15 million worth of government property. I planned and executed military training operations and events along with complex maintenance schedules. I coordinated with, and managed teams simultaneously deployed to different continents, both as a direct supervisor and staff officer. These experiences have given me strong skills in time management, data analytics, multi-tasking, and communication. In addition, I am used to working in a fast -paced and demanding environment. When this experience is combined with strong personal interest in, and passion for, politics it makes me a great candidate for a wide variety of associated roles.
