Anything else?

Dear Hiring Manager, My name is Brendan Civitello. I am a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Catholic University of America, with a BA in Politics and minors in German, Theology, and Philosophy. I have also been admitted into five academic honors societies, and was honored to have been able to intern on Capitol Hill for two years. Throughout my professional and academic careers I have acquired excellent skills in time management, organization, administration, writing and editing, and more. I have previous experience in both political and policy work, and I am very interested in continuing to perform such roles now that I have graduated. My political experience comes from working on two campaigns, one for Lieutenant Governor, and one for State Senate. During both campaigns I worked with senior leadership and the candidate to craft a message and reach out to voters. This included extensive use of the NationBuilder program, which was excellent experience in voter data management. My policy experience comes from my time interning on Capitol Hill. I was an intern in the House of Representatives for two semesters, and in the Senate for two semesters. When I was interning with the House, I largely worked in the area of constituent services: answering phones, giving tours, sending mail, and other such tasks. When I was interning with the Senate I was able to do much more policy-related work, and I was happy to be able to work with a number of different staffers, gaining experience in many diverse areas of policy. I have learned how to be personable and dependable, even under pressure, through my various on-campus involvements during my senior year of college. I served as an executive officer in the Student Government Association, which required about 15 hours a week. I also worked in the President’s Office on a weekly basis, and had three on-campus jobs (each requiring varying time commitments). I have learned how to be successful in all of this, and am very comfortable with time-management and multitasking. Although I am currently in Middletown, CT, I am very open to moving back to Washington, DC, and I would be happy to be considered for positions in either location. I am very excited at the opportunity to continue working in Republican politics, and I thank you very much for considering my resume. Sincerely, Brendan Civitello
