Anything else?

My name is Grant Shepherd and I am writing to express my intent to join your institution. I have recently graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South where I specialized in International & Global Studies with World Politics and Europe as my academic foci. I am motivated to begin my professional career in my areas of passion and interests that require full engagement and training. My academic background at Sewanee includes examining the processes of globalization along with its respective influence on international relations. My thematic focus of World Politics has allowed me to engage in my passions of International law and International security where I partook in winning Jessup Moot Courts and writing case briefs to apply my knowledge. In my career under Dr. Rodelio Manacsa, I was able to participate in UNSC simulations and JESSUP moot court simulations where I applied international legal and political concepts to achieve solutions. Last year, I spent a semester in Madrid, Spain at the Complutense Universidad de Madrid where I studied the Spanish economy and political structure within the European Union as well as perfecting my Spanish language abilities. This experience assisted me in my research and dissertation on Spanish immigration policy. During my time at Sewanee, I have also been a four-year member of the menโ€™s soccer team after playing soccer and sports my entire life. These experiences have instilled values of leadership, responsibility, and time management which has led to greater adaptability and success in my life that will continue to grow. For the past two summers, I have been an intern at Townebank, a successful regional bank focused on consistency and community service to improve the lives of its members. This experience created a further sentiment of promoting prosperity and applying strategic solutions to commercial and personal banking problems. My academic experience at Sewanee and in Spain has fueled my ambition to become a functioning member of the international and governmental relations community through research and ultimately application. I am ready to utilize my knowledge and prove my worth every day with diligence, responsibility, and results. I would appreciate the opportunity to interview with your team and can be reached at shephgl0@sewanee.edu or (757)288-2119. I look forward to hearing back from you and thank you for your time and consideration.
