To Whom It May Concern, My name is Ian Henderson. I am a native of California and UCLA alumni with experience in government and political communications, television booking, journalism, news/media and commentary. I am looking for a communications or policy analysis role where I can utilize my copywriting, journalism, booking, government affairs and/or domestic and foreign policy knowledge to its fullest extent. In my role, I regularly booked A-list political, business, legal, and nonprofit clients on primetime television. I ghostwrote op-eds to be published in major print news publications, drafted and sent out press releases, wrote talking points for television interviews, and crafted email blasts for our clients, amongst other responsibilities. I also previously served as the primary communications spokesman for two elected officials in Orange County, California. In these roles, I drafted, edited, and distributed press releases, serving as the primary media spokesman for both elected officials, managing social media, email distribution list content, newsletters, op-eds, speechwriting, scheduling and prepping media interviews and press conferences, coordination with various local, state, federal offices in addition to foreign dignitaries. My experience as a reporter for a national newspaper has led me to interviews with prominent elected officials, businesspeople, law enforcement and military, educators, tech industry experts, scientists, and more on various topics in California. Given the responsibilities I have had in my previous roles, I have much to offer various firms, elected offices, non-profits, and campaigns.
