Anything else?

My name is Julie Waldon, and I am an educator and course content developer. I graduated from Texas A&M University, majoring in history and English, and received a secondary teaching certification in English/language arts for grades 6-12. I have two master’s degrees--one from the University of North Texas in English with a focus on technical writing and one from the University of Oklahoma in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on international relations. I also have teaching certifications in social studies and in designing Canvas courses. Over the years, I have worked as a distance learning developer and editor for MCI WorldCom, a public school teacher for four school districts, and an adjunct professor for universities and community colleges on campuses and military installations, online, and in public and charter schools. Currently, I am teaching at Palestine High School in East Texas. My courses include dual-credit federal government and Texas government for Stephen F. Austin State University, dual-credit technical and business writing for Trinity Valley Community College, as well as on-level economics and pre-advanced placement creative writing. When my husband was active duty in the military, my wide-ranging educational interests and work ethic allowed me to easily find university-level work across departments and campuses. Over the course of my career in education and training, I have taught students of different ages, backgrounds, and levels of education. My years of experience as an educator has consistently included using technology to plan entire courses, design content, create assessments and rubrics, and analyze data to improve upon student and course outcomes. I am seeking to take my years of experience and apply them toward working for a cause at a time when our nation needs to return to its founding constitutional structure--separation of powers, checks and balances, and individual and states' rights--to defend against tyranny, support true capitalism and meritocracy, and return to Judeo-Christian and Enlightment influences that value human thought and existence.
