Dear Hiring Manager, I humbly request your attention to my application and express my eagerness to contribute to your team. "Are you making an argument or making a difference?" That question—first posed to me by former Congressman Mark Walker—has been my touchstone throughout my political career. With those words in mind, I have dedicated myself to a career in government to advance policies that eliminate barriers to success, incentivize strong families, increase economic opportunity, protect life, and promote liberty, not fueling the 24-hour news cycle. Over my five years working in the U.S. House of Representatives (four on Capitol Hill), I have learned the ins and outs of the legislative process. I have prepared memos for legislative meetings, evaluated public policy proposals, advised on policy-related communications, drafted legislation, and overseen a constituent correspondence program that mailed thousands of letters. As a Legislative Assistant and then Director, I handled hundreds of constituent meetings, policy briefings, and the appropriations process for four members of Congress. Among the bills I am proudest to have constructed were measures that solidified Covid-era Telehealth expansion, enhanced veterans' access to essential surgeries through reform at the VA, and prevented federal funds from being used to teach Critical Race Theory. I am proud of my work on Capitol Hill, but my commitment to conservative principles began far before I worked for members of Congress. I was an ideologue and an activist before I knew you could get paid for it. I have volunteered on local and national campaigns, served as a field director for the RNC, and worked as a communications specialist for the Douglass Leadership Institute. I have been off the couch and in the game my entire life. Why? This message of eliminating bureaucracy, embracing freedom, and building self-confidence, not victim narratives, is personal to me. My mother homeschooled my sister and me while also serving as a lobbyist for the State Homeschool organization (in the days when CPS visits might ensue from nosy neighbors). The ability to homeschool allowed my mother to change a shy, bookish, and retiring boy into a powerhouse capable of serving as the policy lead for the AUMF reform group commissioned by the House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman and guiding amendments and resolutions to victory on the House floor. While I am proud to include my superiors as references, my subordinates are the strongest testament to my leadership abilities. My team-focused, laidback, and results-oriented management style has allowed me to form highly effective mentoring relationships with those who have worked under me. As the common denominator for multiple congressional offices with exceptional camaraderie and success, I am a ceiling raiser for any organization I am a part of. My desire for success led me to establish a “first in, last out” reputation in every office I worked in, and my team feeds off my energy. I am honest with my superiors and managers and deliver authentic feedback to better our collective efforts. I also absorb criticism well, taking it as fodder to get better. Finally, I am an excellent fit for this team because I am willing to embrace the moral case for conservativism. Apprenticeship programs, school choice, protecting the unborn, fixing our porous southern border, limiting and eliminating bureaucracy, and exposing the failures of welfare and government are more than means to achieve a better bottom line. They are righteous actions that affirm the dignity of work, the sacred burden of protecting our country, and the inherent, God-given value of human beings. God did not create humans as sheep to be herded and fed by would-be masters. Instead, he made them free to pursue happiness as they saw fit. Thank you for considering my application. Sincerely, Keifer Wynn
I'm open to it.
