My name is Patti Hazlett and I am a strong conservative who is finding it harder and harder to stay in the “traditional workplace.” For more than eight years, I’ve been in my current position. I am the Public Affairs Director for a multi-state trade association with a heavy focus on advocacy and bi-partisan government relations activities. My work has involved media relations and grassroots advocacy campaigns on legislative efforts, supporting credit union priorities through media outreach and managing responses to crises such as Covid-19 and the recent Marshall Fire in Colorado. While I believe in our mission to support credit unions and the work they do in their communities, the polarization of politics is waning on me. I am a very conservative born-again Christian and the opportunity to use my skill set in an environment that is tightly aligned with those values is very exciting to me. I want the opportunity for my work to have an impact on, and advance, the issues that I support personally. Throughout my career, I have been very successful at my work in media relations, public relations, and marketing in both corporate and not-for-profit settings. I would welcome the opportunity to meld my professional skills with the issues and causes that I, too, am passionate about. My Christian conservative values run deep, and it would be an honor to see my work life so tightly aligned with the things that drive me personally.
