For your Consideration: After completing over three years of work on Capitol Hill and in Republican politics, I am seeking opportunities with the GOP to promote conservative legislation and policy goals. My professional experience represents a fierce commitment to constitutionalism and a comprehensive understanding of campaign and legislative operations. Most recently, I worked as a Substitute Teacher for grades K-8 in the state of Oregon. Prior to my work in education, I served as a full-time staff member for the Office of U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) in administrative and constituent support roles, executing essential office functions and aiding the Senator amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. I gained the necessary skills to excel in this role by undertaking several political internships and temporary staff positions in concurrence with the completion of my Political Science degree. I resigned my previous position in Washington, DC to be near family and pursue substantive professional opportunities outside the field. As a Political Science graduate, I am motivated by a desire to promote the goals of the Republican Party and conservative organizations that effectively expand individual opportunity and American exceptionalism. Through multiple internships in the Second Congressional District and at the South Carolina state level, I have seen firsthand the positive impacts of conservative representation. This invaluable experience highlights my readiness to promote the GOP's platform and underlines my belief in the fundamental role of state government. Throughout my professional experience, both in government and elsewhere, I have approached each role with a keen awareness of my individual responsibilities and the importance of humility in service to organizational goals. I consider limited government to be the cornerstone of self determination and recognize the importance of authenticity in civil service accordingly. I am certain that my commitment to these ideals and breadth of professional experience uniquely position me to effectuate positive outcomes in our communities. Sincerely, Robert W. Simonds, Jr.
