Dear Sir or Ma’am, My name is Warren Waddell. I am a military veteran and I have recently completed my bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management in June of 2021 from Pierce College. I am currently an Emergency Management Coordinator with Grays Harbor Emergency Management in the Emergency Operations Center This role is a contracted limited duration position. Prior to my current position I served as an intern with Grays Harbor County EM during my last term with Pierce College. As an intern my responsibilities centered on continued efforts focused on tsunami preparedness, response, and recovery. During two of my previous military deployments, I was fortunate to have to opportunity to participate in humanitarian missions within the Afghanistan theater of operations. In doing so I gained valuable experience that is directly relevant to public affairs, external affairs, preparedness, response, and recovery in an emergency management and/or military setting. In 2004 I served in a media relations role while assigned to US Central Command’s Public Affairs Directorate. Wherein, I sought out military members throughout the combat theater of operations who were engaged in humanitarian efforts. This enabled me to travel along-side civil affairs assets taking photographs and facilitating field interviews with print, radio and television media outlets. Additionally, I served in the capacity as spokesperson while participating in a number of radio interviews in 2005. In 2012 I served as a member of the Volunteer Community Relations Team in Kabul, Afghanistan along-side our NATO partners. In this role, I served as the Force Protection and Movement NCO. I arranged security details from US military elements to support humanitarian/civil affairs missions. As well as selecting convoy routes. We regularly ventured out to schools, hospitals, orphanages, and women’s centers, coordinating with US special operations, Afghan Police and civilian contractors and volunteers. We were able to bring much needed supplies as well as conduct construction projects and career training to the local population within the Kabul area of operations. Supporting documentation available upon request. Thank you for taking the time to review my resume. I look forward to talking with you. My family and I are ready to relocate to the East Coast. Very Respectfully, Warren Waddell
