Communications Director

Overview

Republican Member of Congress seeks a strategic and dynamic Communications Director with strong media relationships. This is NOT an entry-level position.

Responsibilities

• Devise short- and long-term communications strategy to advance the Congressman’s priorities.
• Ensure all methods of communications are utilized to achieve strategic goals.
• Proactively book the Congressman regularly across national and local outlets.
• Draft press releases, blogs, op-eds, and talking points.
• Oversee and direct the communications team, including:
  • A district-based deputy
  • A digital-focused staffer
  • The Legislative Correspondent

Qualifications

• Substantial rolodex of national reporters, producers, and bookers.
• Self-starter with a creative mindset and strong writing skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Salary

• $95,000 to $110,000.
