Job Description: We are seeking a talented and driven Media Relations Specialist to join our team. As a Media Relations Specialist at CGCN Group you will be responsible for cultivating relationships with media outlets, pitching stories, and crafting compelling narratives to promote our clients' objectives. You will collaborate with our partners and subject matter experts to develop and execute media strategies across various platforms, including press releases, op-eds, interviews, and social media. Actual title and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and producers to secure media coverage for our clients.

• Develop and pitch story ideas to local, national, and industry-specific media outlets.

• Write press releases, media advisories, op-eds, and other media materials to support client initiatives.

• Monitor media coverage and track relevant news and trends in public policy and politics.

• Coordinate media interviews and briefings and provide media training to clients as needed.

• Assist with crisis communications and rapid response efforts as necessary.

• Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute integrated communication strategies that align with client goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field.

• Proven experience in media relations, public relations, or journalism, preferably in a consulting or agency environment.

• Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling narratives.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with media professionals and clients.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Familiarity with AP style, SEO best practices, and social media platforms is preferred.

• Experience working with diverse stakeholders and managing multiple projects is a plus.
